#Respeto Sa Salita at Sa Gawa... A fellow supplier/friend called me up this morning asking for prayer about a client. She said the bride has been very bossy and demanding and is displeased with almost all her booked suppliers. She hardly say please, thank you and would always opt to shout and embarrass her every meeting opportunity. Para pong nabili na ang pagkatao ko. Ang bastos po kahit nakapag aral.. I remember a former client who demanded for an impromptu meeting. I have schedules already prior to her very short notice so i declined her impromptu demand. She said, Ok Mayette, sa susunod dapat puede ka na. My reply was quick, If you want my presence, learn two things: 1. Choose your words as you learn to address people 2. Request and never demand. Im not saying you put a Dr. before my name. A simple Ms. will do. (esp. if your age is half mine!) and Yes, its a big deal to me. Hindi kasi tayo Kano. Tayo ay Pinoy. Im not saying you shower me with your countless Opo and Po but it wont hurt if you address people with respect. It would cost you nothing anyway, but the respect you get back is priceless. I told my friend to never get even with these kind of people. Do what you think is appropriate by protecting yourself professionally. Never allow somebody to make you feel like they own you. The worst defense mechanism is Bullying. And only pretentious, insecure people do it. Always bring a Thank You and Please coupled with a sweet tone with you, beautifuls!
