Rest in Peace to our sweet angel Sasha Bear. She passed as she had - TopicsExpress

Rest in Peace to our sweet angel Sasha Bear. She passed as she had lived, at home in our care , surrounded by those that loved her. We will have many more dogs, but she was the dog of a lifetime. I met Sasha on Melissa and Is first date on a warm Wednesday afternoon in Ocean Beach. They came as a package and I fell for them both. Sasha became our baby, and she loved everyone she met. Her and I shared a special bond, sleeping chest to chest in bed every night. She was a precious soul, and the bravest creature Ive ever encountered. She changed my life, and Id give my right arm for one more moment with her. Her legacy lives on in our young dog Swayze, who she trained from a puppy, and we are grateful for the last year that Sasha got to show him the ropes. Recently, with her health in decline, she never stopped smiling and wagging. Facing ailments that wouldve caused most humans to give up, she never once complained, and went right on with her normal activities, just a bit slower than before. We miss her fiercely, and this past month has been the hardest of our lives, but we are smiling through the tears and feeling so grateful that we had the honor of knowing and loving this dog. This last week might have been the best of Sashas life. She got more love than she knew what to do with, and was eating all the tri-tip and ice cream she could handle. We want to say thank you to anyone and everyone who ever shared a smile or belly-rub with our sweet girl, and to many of our friends and family members who shared special bonds with Sasha Bear. She loved you all. A special thank you to David Bryson Hatfield, who gave us the amazing gift of taking these beautiful photos a few days ago. Thank you David, these photos already mean so much to us. You captured the Wolf-Pack as we knew it. We are also extremely grateful to Transitions Veterinary Services for coming to our home and allowing Sasha the dignity of passing peacefully in our home, in our care and surrounded by love. At the exact moment she passed, a warm summer rain began to fall. We went outside and drank from the sky, wild with grief but comforted knowing shes not hurting anymore. We miss you baby...
