Rest of winter 2015 outlook: The SPC has updated their outlook - TopicsExpress

Rest of winter 2015 outlook: The SPC has updated their outlook and its pretty much calling for an average temperature/snow regime through the rest of the winter. We will likely see oscillations in patterns that result in snowy/cold periods, followed by mild, drier periods, then back to cold and snow and so on. This has been the trend this month and would expect this general pattern to continue. As such, these conditions may well last through March as well. This doesnt mean we wont see a big snowstorm, but the likelihood of consecutive large snow events is lower than average. We have not seen a 6+ singe snow event... Yet, but we will. Average snow amounts for the season average around 42.5 for Portage proper (+/- a few depending on exact location). Our current snow to date is 8.7, slightly below our 11.8 by Jan. 16th. Remember that this is a SEASONAL outlook and does not indicate what individual systems may bring, and is an average of the rest of the winter.
