Restoring Biodiversity: A Handprint Challenge Update! The world’s biodiversity is exposed to various threats, a majority of which have been caused by humans. Pollution, climate change, habitat loss, and invasive alien species are all causes of biodiversity loss, which are in turn caused by deforestation and over exploitation by the increasing human population. A team of ten in Nepal aim to restore the weakening biodiversity. Under the project “Biodiversity Park”, students of Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science are planting varieties of trees to conserve landforms, prevent erosion, increase fertility, and improve aesthetics, and educating and encouraging the local community to maintain a sustainable clean, green and healthy environment.
