Michal, ...sat back while she observed and judged (2Sam.6:16). ...through a window she observed David. The phraseon the outside looking in...stayed at home and watched through her window. This is exactly where satan wants to keep Gods people-in the position of a deceived observer, believing that is the safest place to be. Michal rebuked him...Davids response was clear (2Sam. 6:21-22) ...It was before the Lord, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel: therefore Will I play before the Lord. And I will yet be more vile than this, and w will be base in mine own sight. Dancing before the Lord is a humbling experience; ...It is intimate and personal, and it is not expressed for the sake of the observer. ...observers are prone to critical judgment. ...she would not understand or approve of his dancing, ...would think he was foolish. But hee did not allow such a thought to hinder his love and its expression to God. For Michal, her price in the physical was barreness: (2Sam. 6:23). ...as a warning to those who judge and as an encouragement to those who dance: In Acts 5, Peter and some of the other apostles stood before an angry council who rebuked then for teaching about Jesus after they had been commanded not to. ...We ought to obey God rather than men, (Acts 5:29 b,33). There is a spirit that despises those who break tradition in order to move boldly ahead in the Lord, just as Michal despised David for his dancing. ...it demonstrates that as we boldly move forward in obedience to Gods way, He is our defense. ...Just as the council was planning to kill the apostles, God moved in the heart of one of their own members (Acts 5:34-35, 38-39)...but if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God. Dance as God originally intended will be restored to the Church. ...Anyone who actively opposes this move of God will be found fighting against God Himself. ...Press on in obedience to God, ...
