Resuming fajr (dawn) prayers at the Masjid on Sundays to manage stress levels among other things. Currently reading the topic on restoration and stress management in Supertraining. Restoration is an integral part of a training program. Russian athletes and coaches usually recognise three classes of restoration. 1) Pedagogical restoration - e.g deload weeks, organising training in the various microcycles, mesocycles and macrocycles 2) Medico-biological restoration - e.g. massages, ice baths, acupuncture 3) Psychological restoration - management of the mental state. e.g computer games, music therapy , and prayers (personal preference) I personally find #3 highly significant. Remember to take a step back and chill. Excessive exercise can be detrimental by prolonging elevated cortisol (stress hormone) levels, hindering strength and fatloss goals. Spend time with your loved ones.
