Retard Rant. Well, just organised and paid for Sophs first Bring Your Own Device ( or BYOD for those who love acronyms ) laptop for school. Only seems like yesty (2007 if my crappy memory serves me correctly) that Kevin Krudd promised all kids would receive these devices, gratis... as part of his election campaign... Of course he had to Zip didnt he...??? I have no issues at all shelling out any amount of money to ensure that Sophs education is as good as it can be...after all SHE is our responsibility...but when I look around at all the government wastage that occurs on a day to day basis...why is it that education and health services are normally the hardest hit??? And now I see that our government has signed a $50 million (open ended) contract with some Dutch mob to try and find the doomed Malaysian Airlines MH370 missing somewhere since March. While I have every respect for the families of these lost souls and certainly have every wish that they find closure...what tangible and / or emotional result will finding the aircraft provide???...And more to the point...why are we footing the bill??? On the health front...I am still trying to fathom how our little Base Hospital down here spent $940,000 ( yep folks...nearly a million) on locum - general surgeon services for a recent ONE MONTH period!!! Seems ironic that at a time when we are all being asked to tighten our belts for the heavy weather ahead...that most Australian families have a far better handle on their household finances and priorities, than the half witted pollies and public servants that are purportedly running the country. We dont need to increase exports, up productivity, lower wages, increase taxes etc etc etc ...it could all be fixed if we just STOPPED THE WASTE!!! Anyway... I am pooped and dinner awaits!!!
