Rethink Iran: Ancient Isfahan, nicknamed Nesf-e Jahan or Half of the World - a must-see presentation on this mystical UNESCO Heritage site. (Part 1) Just below Tehran is the magnificent and magical city of Isfahan, once Irans capital from 1598 to 1722. The nickname lives true to its name: Isfahan has been the source of so many things people all over the world enjoy today that one cannot possibly list them in this one status. Take a walk in Isfahans bazaar or the well-trimmed and amazing gardens all along the province. On the Zayandehrood river you can find countless ancient bridges, and friendly locals picnicking and walking along the way. When in Isfahan, you can grab some take-out food from one of the many places in and near the bazaar, and make your way to Naqsh-e Jahan Square where locals will already be eating their take out dinners, especially on Fridays. Pro-tip: if you want to engage in instant sports diplomacy, check out the bowling alley under the Tele-cabin station (the one with cars that go up to the Soffeh mountains). Now, please enjoy this thought-out and quality presentation by PressTV featuring a young American woman traveling the sites with film crew in tow. Special thanks to Erwin Gharib for this reference.
