Retired Officer Jeff Steele, a 25-year veteran of the Glendale Police Department was killed while employed by Airwest Helicopters in a helicopter crash near Benson Arizona. Steele was piloting a Cochise County Sheriffs Office helicopter when it experienced problems and went down after it had undergone repair or maintenance work. A mechanic also perished in the accident.
