Review Malam! Raging from their own tradition of Sludge, Downtune hardcore and adding up a sum of much more complexity of Psych Rock, and Shoegaze element inside the music, Ultraviolet was a brilliant effort. Some might still consider it to be good, but some people claimed it to be distinctive from the previous original sound of Kylesa. I enjoyed this as much as the previous work, Psych-rock was my fave too. There was not much distinction inside rather than dare I say more progression to their new sound journey. In 2010 Phillip Cope list 10 best songs via Brooklyn Vegan webzine, and among them were their peer like the bands High On Fire, Torche or Kverlertak; but Phillip as well, dig pretty much other band with different music genre such as BEACH HOUSE and ALCEST, the New Wave Dream Pop or Modern Shoegaze act! 2012 seen the birth of ULTRAVIOLET their 6th and latest Studio album, gather those different element in perfect way!
