Review from Written Blood Interviews! Signatura Rerum - In Sfarsit... The Album begins with a very cold, eerie intro, “In” giving you a fully immersive feeling of what is yet to come, it then flows into Muntele Inghetat, a song that begins with a brilliantly composed intro that keeps the feel of the album’s initial intro, the listener then gets assaulted by pure Black Metal that takes you back to the same feeling you would have had listening to Darkthone’s Transilvanian Hunger. It sets a high standard for the rest of the album and they come out strong. Then comes “Blestem Soptit”. The symphonic elements are just so well done, and don’t feel out of place, many aspiring Black Metal bands using symphonic elements have trouble doing this, but Signatura Rerum got it perfect. The guitar on this track is brilliantly composed, the solo is written amazingly. As amazing as this track is, it brings about the album’s only downfall, the clean vocals. On paper they would have worked amazingly, but, I just don’t believe that they were performed as well as hoped. Although, it’s no fault of theirs that ICS Vortex set a high standard for clean vocals in Symphonic Black Metal We now find “Apusul”. This track brings the pure aggression we all love in a Black Metal Album. This is the track that made me notice how well done the mixing was on this album, each instrument is extremely distinct, at no point did it turn into a sludge of notes and chords, which happens quite frequently in Black Metal. This track has another amazing solo, the guitar on this album is simply amazing. I was pleasantly surprised to find deep growls on this track, something that isn’t very often used, let alone used well in Black Metal, but Signatura Rerum pulled it off. Next we are brought to the outro,”Din”. It gives a great conclusion to the album, but still leaves you wanting more, a difficult thing to do. All in all this album is extremely impressive, the mixing was amazing, everyone can be heard, not even the bass gets hidden in the background. The song writing was some of the best I have heard in any Black Metal album. Considering this is the first release of a band only two months over a year old, this is a remarkable achievement. Keep an ear out for these guys, because I’m sure you will be hearing a lot more from them. I hope to see them touring sometime soon, because they definitely deserve it. - Conor Mactaggart https://facebook/WrittenBloodInterviews
