Review of the Day: Thank you Amy M. for this positive review! Your feedback not only helps us to find ways to improve, but also lets anyone else with the same condition know about how acupuncture can help. Heres her story: I have a condition called Bells Palsy. No one really knows what causes it. It comes on all of a sudden, literally within a day and it causes one side of your face to become paralyzed. I thought I was having a stroke. I couldnt close one eye or blink, I couldnt smile and one side of my face drooped. My life was suddenly much changed! I didnt look or function like myself. You can imagine how terrifying this condition is. I went to the emergency room and was treated by western medicine. Basically given pills and told it could last a week or months. I didnt feel like I had a plan. They just told me to wait and see. I did some research and found out that acupuncture could help. I sought out Acupuncture Wellness which is near my house. I walked in and was so grateful to be in Hyejungs gentle hands. She assured me she could help. I was feeling so vulnerable and broken, but finally felt hope that I could recover. I finally had a plan. She didnt make promises she couldnt keep, but encouraged me to come in and take some time for myself. As the mother of an active then two year old with a high pressure job this was key. Her holistic approach and advice was so helpful. It took time, but I never gave up and neither did she. We celebrated my progress every week. A year later, I am about 95 percent back to normal. She reminds me to take time for myself and to find ways to deal with stress so that I dont find myself in the same place again. I look forward to my sessions. Im not crazy about needles, but this is not an issue. They are so fine, you hardly notice. After treatments I feel relaxed and refreshed. Thank you, Hyejung!! medpagetoday/Neurology/GeneralNeurology/37520
