Revolution of a severely corrupted industry aint a pretty picture but Im glad its finally arrived~ In a lengthy diatribe from angry Youtube uploader, one can only presume it comes as a result of expectations from a society used to getting something for free because, since the beginning of the internet, they have! Protection of an artists work is not only our sole right, its changing the face of the music industry and how a recording artist can continue independently. Monetisation of videos has become an integral component, takedown disputes are out of my immediate control as each copyright is policed for revenue by their respective writers/publishers... img0.liveinternet.ru/images/attach/c/5/3970/3970473_sprite198.swf =@= You can keep the works of Ms. Myles a dark secret in a locked cupboard if you want. If a music track was cut, but no audience ever listens to it - does it count as performance art? Fair use then, is just a fop, the corporate knack of taking the fun out of anything they touch, is never more clearly demonstrated than with the Youtube/corporate music rights enforcement agreement - or whatever it got called. There will be a revenge video in place of the one you unceremoniously removed, with alannah myles music you so object to 185 extra people hearing, definitely not part of it. I wont use her music, I wont mention her much, and it will as I said, just be 185 less times alannah myles track gets listened to, 185 less times people see her talent acknowledged and aired on youtube. My replacement video will however, take the piss out of managers in the music industry, and copies will be sent to any satirists and publications that might take an interest in the over-eager policing of the work of dated rock stars now hard up for a buck or two. You ought to be grateful - how many new people listened to Ms. Myles now unfashionable music due to your efforts in the last year? I got a load of unconnected Ebayers to do it. Instead, you shut me down. It cant have done Ms. Myles any favours. How many genuinely complementary videos are there out there really? Mine is probably about the only one. Its 3 days more effort than a lot of people will have gone to, to promote her work in 2013/2014. Whats it for, really, if no-one ever hears it, and these days, if it hasnt got a video aligned with it, no-one under 30 will be listening anyway, and they are the ones who (sometimes) buy stuff.
