Revolutionary-Women And-Reggae would first like to thank each and everyone who blessed us with their presence at our 10th Anniversary Honorary Dinner last night at The Great Hall. Yes, we got off to a late start, but what a POWERFUL ending!!! Thank you, *Dinquinesh She Ra for Blessing us with yet another piece of your great talents, this time, with your finger licking culinary delights from Whole Kitchen (In Da Hood). For me, your Harriet Tubman dish was heavenly! Thank you, *Edna Ravenel (Mama Tradition) for your Ever Green dishes, always delicious! For all that you do, it is with great pleasure that the RWR extends HONOR to you! *Marcia Higgs-Rodriquez, you are truly the ocean on which the RWR ship sails! Thank you for setting the stage and for always blessing us with your truth and wisdom. *Tae Queen, thank you for being our host for the night. As always, you were inspirational and especially when it comes to our history, you are very informative! The RWR never underestimates the power of EDUCATION and that is why educating the masses is what we do! Thank you, *Vicki Hassan for taking us BACK TO OUR ROOTS with your eye-opening presentation! Learning so much more in depth about the paths, positions and undertakings of our Women Ancestors was interesting and rather humbling! It duly confirms who the true Mother of Civilization is! Mama *Makeda Kamara, thank you for educating us on NATURAL BIRTHING and the pros and cons that every mother and father to be should KNOW about the process. Your presentation was highly informative, especially the historical course and channel as pertains to life after birth. You continue to be a true inspiration to all of us and so, it is with great pleasure that the RWR extends HONOR to you! *Nichele Thompson, your presentation on EXPLORING UNHEALTHY CYCLES IN RELATIONSHIPS was heartfelt, to say the least! Statistics show that the number of Women and children who are victims of DOMESTIC VIOLENCE is staggering! By pointing out some of the underlying Characteristics of an Abuser, you will definitely help our Women to not only recognize, but also to make better choices in men to partner with and of course, to make sounder, lifesaving decisions in the event an ABUSER is realized! *Antonio Arrendel (Boston Pops) thank you so very much for always coming out and educating us Women from a MANs perspective! Your NUMBERS exercise was not only a teaching moment, but also a revealing experience for me! We greatly appreciate you bringing out the YOUTHS to be EMPOWERED as they are our future! For most of our 10 years, the multiple award-winning Dis-N-Dat band has been the backing band for Artistes who perform on our annual TRIBUTE to HARRIET TUBMAN. In recognition for her great musical prowess and continued support, it is with great pleasure that the RWR extends HONOR to the bands leader, *Sista Dee! Thank you, Sista Dee, for always sharing with us your musical expertise! Empress Miqua Williams and Jawasei, thank you for your continued support and for giving the RWR a special place in your hearts! Thanks also for bringing out the entire family and blessing us with your kind generosity! To Empress Teisha Brown, our Spoken Word Artiste, thank you for coming out and exemplifying to us that, THE FAMILY THAT PRAYS TOGETHER, STAYS TOGETHER. Your Mom was trully ADORABLE! She warmed my heart! Hope she enjoys the CD she won! To Sister Imani McFarlane, Carolyn Garner from Los Angeles, California, Sister Queen Lucresha Thomas from Orlando Florida, Sister Asha, Wayne Atkinson and the entire Essential Body Herbs entourage, Kete-Man (Elder from Ras Michael & The Sons of Negus), Journalist Bandoo, Ericka Alexander, Jacque Gilmore, Dawan Madyun, Rukkly Madyun, Fyah Nyah, Ibrahim (Eyez on Me 24-7), John Brooks, Johnathan Turner, Frenell Jean-Georges & Family and as it is impossible to name all, as stated before, we give thanks to each and everyone who came out and made the RWRs 10th Anniversary Dinner possible! Please stay tuned for the updates on REVOLUTIONARY WOMEN & REGGAE - The 11th Annual TRIBUTE TO HARRIET TUBMAN! Ashe!
