By PAUL CONNELLY sports@recordargusnews PYMATUNING TOWNSHIP — The Reynolds Raiders celebrated homecoming in style Friday night and improve to .500 with a 57-14 rout of the Franklin Knights at Raider Stadium. All week long, Head Coach Josh Mull challenged his players to step up and make something happen and Friday every single one of them answered the call. Mike Millero led the Raiders offense with 158 yards rushing on 15 carries and 5 touchdowns. Adam Ballish (four carries, 65 yards rushing), Dylan McDanel (5 carries, 73 yards rushing, two touchdowns), and Joel Leise (two carries, 47 yards, one touchdown) all split work in the backfield totaling 185 yards rushing combined. QB Jake Leipheimer also put in work for the Raiders as he was second behind Millero with 111 yards rushing on six carries. What started off with all of the characteristics of a shootout ended in a field day for Reynolds. Reynolds and Franklin first quarter after Garrett Daniello picked off Knights QB Porter Rembold’s pass on just the third play of the game. Leipheimer would run the option on a 53-yard run to setup Millero for the touchdown. It was big runs like this that Reynolds finished drives on including another 53- yard run this time from Adam Ballish to give Reynolds a 14-7 lead into the second quarter. It was all downhill from there for the Knights when Daniello returned Franklin’s kick after tying the score 14-14 for 45 yards. It was the big gaps in the Franklin defense that the Raiders were able to run right through and capitalize off of with big plays. Rembold kept it going in the air for the Knights going 12/20 for 101 yards and one touchdown but turned the ball over twice. Running back Zak Lynn ran for 99 yards on 15 carries to lead the rushing effort for Franklin and Austin Andres ran for 43 yards, scoring the only rushing TD for the Knights. Kahlil West got the majority of targets, racking up 103 recieving yards on five receptions and one touchdown SCORING SUMMARY Franklin7700= 14 Reynolds 14 22 21 0 = 57 1st R 9:35 Mike Millero 6 run (Mike Ryhal kick good) F 5:09 Austin Andres 23 run (Ty Mooney Kick good) R 4:13 Millero 5 run (kick good) 2nd R 11:15 Millero 12 run (Millero run) R 7:36 Millero 10 run (kick good) F 5:32 Kahlil West 33 pass from Porter Rembold (kick good) R 2:51 Millero 3 run (kick good) R 4.8 Ryhal 25 kick failed 3rd 9:51 Dylan McDanel 25 run (kick good) 5:21 Joel Leise 6 run (kick good) :20 Mcdanel 25 run (kick good)
