***** Rhapsody Of Realities ***** DEFINITE REQUESTS... WITH THANKSGIVING! Saturday, May 24th, 2014. Pastor ANITA Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God (Philippians 4:6). The Amplified Version of the opening scripture reads: Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. Isn’t it beautiful that the Lord expects us to make definite requests of Him? Some people make requests that aren’t definite. For instance, they say, Help me Lord, I can’t continue like this. That’s not a definite request. Even if someone prayed this way for the next ten years, his prayers will still be ineffective. Our opening verse gives us two key elements of effectual prayers: definite requests and thanksgiving. In Mark 11:23, the Lord Jesus said, For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Jesus didn’t tell us to speak to mountains, but to this mountain, teaching us to be definite in acting our faith. When you have a strong and definite desire for change, and make your faith proclamations accordingly, you’ll experience such miraculous demonstrations of the power of God in your life. Moreover, when your desires are met, you’d be able to tell, and glorify the Lord for those specific miracles. Don’t just pray; make definite requests. God wants you to live a life free of worries and anxieties; He wants you to boldly approach the throne of grace, ask, and receive the specific grace you need for success and excellence in the different areas of life. Therefore, it makes no difference the challenges you’re faced with, refuse to fret or doubt! Instead, make definite requests to the Father, with thanksgiving, in the Name of Jesus, and you’ll have the change you desire. PRAYER Dear Father, I walk in divine wisdom, in dealing with the circumstances and affairs of life. My eyes are opened to solutions and possibilities as I stay my mind on the Word. Therefore, your overwhelming peace guards and rules in my heart and mind, today and always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. FURTHER STUDY: Matthew 6:25; Mark 11:23.
