Richard Stanton, a principle, charged with caring and teaching children for their future benefit is pushing te reo, while Professor Moon pushes down from high up in the academic tower. Should we take the positive view (what is) or the normative (what ought to be)? What has a proven positive affect on children (or for anyone for that matter) is to know who they are and where they come from. The earlier that is instilled the more beneficial it is for the child, the family and society in general. I think principles are forming the face of New Zealand whereas academics are commentating on more immediate political effects. Thank you Richard Stanton.
