Richard Viguerie is right. With some conservative politicians its time to strike the match and burn them down! We know what theyre going to do because weve seen them do it over and over and over again, and its very rarely got anything at all in common with the Constitutional Conservative rhetoric the espouse on the campaign trail. Mitch McConnell is a good example of this. He talks like a Conservative, but rarely does he legislate like a Conservative. If we cant replace him with a real Conservative we need to at least elect enough real Conservatives to the Senate to box him in and force him to take the Conservative position should he become the next Senate Majority Leader in November. Winning the general election isnt enough. We also have to win the primaries so that we have some real Conservatives to vote for come November!!! However, Paul Ryan also made a good point at CPAC. He [Paul Ryan] also said conservatives cannot insist on 100 percent purity from every Republican on every issue, saying a party poised to win elections doesn’t burn heretics; it wins coverts. On that we can agree, to a point. Sometimes the heretic really does deserve to be burned, but in many cases we are far to quick to pull out the pitchforks and destroy our own people even when we agree with them on nearly every other issue! Marco Rubio is a good example of this. Im not a fan of Marco Rubio. Ive havent been a fan of Marco Rubio since he allowed himself to be co-opted by the so-called Gang of 8 and flip-flopped on amnesty for illegals. Ill probably never be a fan of Marco Rubio again, and should a better candidate challenge Marco Rubio Ill support the better candidate against Marco Rubio. However, that being said, Im not going to set out to destroy Marco Rubio and attack him even on the issues on which we agree as I saw so many do recently when Rubio took to the Senate floor to speak about Cuba. Im often amazed at how vindictive we can be and how quickly we turn on our own over every disagreement & every mistake. Its a big part of the reason were not in power, and it needs to stop. Ryans right. We should at least try to bring the strays back into the fold before we set out to burn them down!
