* Richards story & * Wesley Mission story—Wesley Aunties & Uncles Richard Feeney of Prison Fellowship Australia talks about the work of Angel Tree, a program which reaches out to the children of prison inmates. Started in 1982 by Mary Kay Beard, who had experienced prison herself, Angel Tree runs throughout Australia to ease one of the biggest pains of imprisonment: separation from family. Richard shares how when he became Christian at the age of 20, his motto for life became ‘not saved for myself but for others’. Working in community centres made him realise how difficult it was for the families of prison inmates and led him to be a prison chaplain. Today we hear the story of Taylor, who joined the Wesley Aunties & Uncles program at the age of four. Having been mentored by her ‘Auntie’ and ‘Uncle’ Maryanne and Robert, Taylor, now 18, says she wouldn’t be able to go to university today if it weren’t for the opportunities she has been given through the program.
