Riding down the road returning from a race in Kinley I spot someone on the bench outside the laundromat tonight. It just looked strange to me so I turned around. I pulled up and to make a long story short, found a 22 yr old male who obviously wasnt all there who stated that he was kicked out of his dads house this afternoon. I didnt want him to freeze to death in downtown Broadway so I put him in the truck, turned the heat on and chatted with him. I called the town officer and had him meet me hopefully to get this kid to a shelter. Found out the the shelter accepts noone after 10:00. I was shocked that they would rather leave him on the street than to break policy. The Broadway officer was going to take him back to his residence and see if his dad will let him back in. I hope the young man is ok and I hope he gets whatever help he needs. Remember folks dont become homeless after 10:00 pm or youll have to learn your lesson by freezing to death!
