Riggers in the family - Theres a White Night job in the offing: The Athenaeum Theatre & Library is celebrating its 175th birthday this year, and celebrations begin with an installation during White Night 2015. Three x 3m clear plastic inflated Athena’s will be suspended atop the Athenaeum’s canopy. The lead artist needs 2 or 3 strong, fit and capable installers to work on the canopy of the Athenaeum Theatre to secure and install the 3 x Athena’s. They will be installed on Friday 20 February and may take 4-6 hours. They will be dismantled on Monday 23 February and will take 2 – 3 hours. The lead artist is looking for riggers with equipment to assemble and attach the inflatable to the canopy: · They should be skilled in using equipment to attach the objects to the available structures · They should be able to select anchor and attachment points · They should be able to safely operate rigging equipment · The should be able to work at height and on a ladder · They should be flexible and have a sense of humour! · They will be paid as contractors by the Melbourne Athenaeum Inc.
