Right? Wrong? (turn down volume...kid acts like hes dying) Discipline is a hard (but necessary) thing for a parent. I have found each child to respond to different disciplinary actions different ways. What works for one may not the other. When I was growing up we got out behinds busted...shoot where I lived my neighbors had permission to whip me...and if I got in trouble at school they had permission PLUS when I got home Id get another! I, as a parent, would rather do anything than spank....but sometimes thats all that would work....Im not talking a beating or anything done in anger....it was discipline not punishment! It was received, not forced. Big differences between discipline and punishment! DISCIPLINE-meant to teach Reaps acceptance, repentance, change, respect, love PUNISHMENT-meant to inflict pain Reaps avoidance, defiance, rebellion, revenge, hatred Growing up there was some excessive punishment and always out of anger and frustration....I do NOT agree with that....with that said, I prolly wouldve locked myself up if I had to deal with me back then....poor Mom! But punishment never worked...no matter how excessive I felt it was. Discipline out of LOVE.... whatever form you use. LOVE and PRAYER will change things!
