Right now in Taiji Japan , wild dolphins are sought out and driven towards shore by boats and fisherman who use metal poles called "bang poles" they put these poles into the water and hit them with hammers or any metal object..to an acoustic animal like a dolphin , this is torture and it renders their sonar useless there is no escaping the wall of sound...from there they are driven towards the shore, then nets are dropped blocking their escape..the prettiest are selected to be sold into captivity and the rest get a rope around their tails and are dragged off to be slaughtered...this will continue every day until the end of March and takes place every year..it started yesterday 40 bottle nose dolphins were stolen from the ocean, 12 will remain captive and wait to be sold to marine parks..the rest will be slaughtered for human consumption....
