Right-wingers may laugh, but Penn has is on to something more - TopicsExpress

Right-wingers may laugh, but Penn has is on to something more significant. The people depicted here arent environmentalists, they are what he calls joiners, who will sign up to anything no matter how absurd - if it speaks to the language of their tribe. This is typical human behavior, and being to the right side of the divide does not make an individual immune from stupidity or bovine behavior. It seems the moment a person joins any tribe, party, cult, or organisation, they suspend their capacity to think - and place the value of their own thinking in second place to that of the hive. The way in which ideologues shun a non-believer is no more evolved than the witch-hunts of the dark ages, yet people who purport to believe in modern, progressive ideals (libertarians and atheists) still conform to this same pattern of behavioural psychology. Its rather a shame. We have all been granted the gift of a brain, yet so many opt to leave it on standby and subscribe to other peoples thoughts instead. As the The Principia Discordia has it: A person belonging to one or more Order is just as likely to carry a flag of the counter-establishment as the flag of the establishment - just as long as it is a flag. Nowhere can you see this more acutely than in fringe political parties like the Green Party and Ukip. Criticise their clan, scripture or leaders, and the drone mind kicks in - supplanting all unique characteristics and personality. The goal is assimilation or the destruction of all opposition. It is fanaticism. And that is always dangerous. However righteous the cause, evil is always done in the name of the greater good. youtube/watch?v=yi3erdgVVTw
