Rising Kashmir News Jammu, June 24 : Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination (JKBOPEE) Monday stated that they will shortly issue the date sheet for the conduct of the cancelled examinations of Biology and Chemistry before July 5. Notably, the examination was postponed after the Biology paper was given to candidates instead of Chemistry paper in some examination centers. “The paper was not leaked. It was a human error and it was not done intentionally. The investigation as to how this happened is on,” Chairman, JKBOPEE, RD Sharma told journalists, while expressing concern over being projected as the paper was leaked. Defending JKBOPEE, Sharma said, he was sure that the paper was not leaked while citing examples that such incidents have even taken place in AIIMS- a reputed health institution of India. Sharma said that there were two options to cancel the papers or to conduct it. However, we unanimously with Kashmir University decided not to cancel the examination in the interest of the examinees. The Chairman JKBOPEE said, the packet which should have Chemistry papers unfortunately had Biology and it was distributed. Clarifying their stand, the Chairman, JKBOPEE said that they did not set examination, print and pack the papers but it is managed through outsourcing. “The entire process from paper setting to printing and packing is highly confidential and there not even a single chance of any misappropriation,” he said. The JKBOPEE chairman said that they have being conducting the probe as to how the papers mixed in a packet. “The initial probe into the issue suggests that no official was involved and it was just a human error,” the chairman, quoting the enquiry stated. Later, he apologized for the issue which caused panic among the students appearing in JKBOPEE, while assuring that the inquiry into the matter is being conducted in a transparent manner.
