Risk Reduction Officer - Mafraq #IRC International Rescue Committee #MAFRAQ #IRBID #JONGOJOBS Job Description and Requirements Responsibilities The Risk Reduction Officer is responsible for managing specific Security functions for the IRC Jordan field office staff and locations situated in North Jordan. The RRO reports directly to the Field Coordinator with technical reporting line to Senior Risk Reduction Officer (SRO) based in Amman. Main tasks and duties Internal and External Liaison & Stakeholder Relations Responsible to: Develop and Maintain strong follow up systems with Government Departments and Ministries, IO, INGO and NGO agencies, stakeholders in refugee camps and other non formal community stakeholders for close coordination and information exchange. Attend meetings as required to represent the IRC and support coordination in reducing risk. Monitor local national and international information sources to provide risk reduction updates including; SMS, e-mail, staff meetings and one on one updates to senior management staff. Safety and security Responsible to: Serve as Safety and Security focal point for IRC Field Office. Perform Safety and Security orientation for all IRC new staff and visitors within 48 hours after arrival. Perform safety and security briefs for all IRC staff and visitors. Perform training for all IRC staff focused on risk reduction. Regularly updating existing Security Management Plans (SMPs) for field locations Developing SMPs for new locations Conduct Security Assessments for old and new locations Developing & Implementing Security communication protocols Providing training to staff for implementing SMPs when needed Any other security related task assigned by the supervisor Other Responsibilities Any Other task assigned by the supervisor Job Requirements University Degree. Minimum of 3 years professional experience in Security/Risk Management. Good organizational, diplomatic and reporting skills INGO experience preferred. Fluency in Arabic and English. Strong sense of personal integrity. A willingness to work outside traditional office hours Additional qualities: ability to multitask, ability to handle pressure well, ability to improvise, flexibility, cultural and environmental sensitivity. Team work skills
