Rite, so I had dinner at Red Lobster last night, wanted to go for - TopicsExpress

Rite, so I had dinner at Red Lobster last night, wanted to go for all my old favourites that I remember from my time in the States.... damn what a disappointment!!!! To start off, service was good, but this was expected as the main service crew were Americans, their support staff, locals and foreigners, who did seem a bit (understatement?) blur. But kudos to the CURRENT service crew. Food on the other hand was disappointing. NO and I repeat NO Shrimp Scampi on the menu!!! WTF!!! when queried, its because the sauce uses white wine.. as do many of the other dishes. So bye bye all the good stuff!!!!! the starters/side order menu is run of the mill, nothing new nothing to shout about. On to the O So Famous Biscuits... not like how I remember it, AT ALL!!!!! In the States, & Canada, they bring you a basket full of it!! Here they bring you the amount as per number of pax per table...... uuurgh!!! How disappointing! So what if its complimentary? duh!, keep it coming!!!! Now for any of you who have read the press release that says that the prices start at RM 9.90 and blah blah blah RM 49.90, read again! It doesnt mention that the lobsters range from RM 90.00 upwards! The dish I had, a blah blah blah with lobster tail (which was sliced down the middle to make it look like there were 2 pcs, scallops (wait till you see the pic and find the scallops!), shrimps (that look like the 55/60 IQF type, in other words.... TINY!!!!) and mussels on a bed of linguine, RM 109.90...... Tasteless..... nothing more to say. Tried the lobster bisque and clam chowder as well, I thought I ordered something that borders on soupy, not a thick heavy sauce which is what I got, and blooming rough!...... of course a clam chowder without the real bacin inside it just isnt a clam chowder. Drinks, at least they have bottemless drinks for the sodas. The Mojito had more ice and soda water in it then rum. Hemmingway will be turning in his grave for this abomination of a Mojito. On the good side, my service staff waived the 7-up and a glass of wine for the delays in the food service. It seems that one of the ovens broke down on opening night. Overall, for me, as I have eaten countless times at a REAL Red Lobster, this place is a disappointment, a far ( I stress the FAR) cry from a typical North American Red Lobster. At least I can say been there, done that..... Shout out to my boys Elvis and Corey! Great job on the service under the conditions you guys were in. If any of youll are going, make sure you ask for their section.
