Rivalry week! My dad attended the University of $outhern - TopicsExpress

Rivalry week! My dad attended the University of $outhern California (as well as Cypress Community College, go Chargers!), so I grew up a Trojan. Hell, I was at the very first football game that Pete Carroll coached at USC, a 21-10 win over San Jose State. But enough about my troubled past. My dark years are behind me, and Ill bleed true blue till the day Im dead. However, I do have a somewhat unique perspective on the upcoming game and the greatest rivalry in college sports. Though some find it shocking, and some dont agree, the most important aspect of our rivalry with U$C is the seemingly contradictory fact that it is a friendly rivalry. Were not a couple of southern states that fought against each other in the Civil War and think its still going on till this day--were the top academic institutions in the greatest city on the planet. Were all working together to make the world a better place. There are philosophers and artists and economic geniuses and scientists and engineers aplenty on both of our campuses. Yes, we want to win the games and be ranked higher academically and in general be better than them, but at the end of the day who better to be second best than the University of $econd Choice? So keep it clean, Bruins. Have fun, but be respectful. Post the memes, theyre great! Crack all the jokes! But please, Bruins, lets not be seen on the late night news having drunken brawls with the silly Trojan$. Poking fun is great (and encouraged), harassment is never okay. Im glad to finally be on the right side of rivalry week. Go Bruins! #thebellstaysblue TL;DR: Watch this video.
