River rocks or river stones are frequently used in landscaping because of their durability and versatility. River stone requires little to no maintenance and can be used instead of mulch because of its imperishability. The available colors and textures of river rocks vary widely, adding contrast and balance to a landscape. Stones may be placed around a favorite tree or plant or anywhere in a landscaping scheme for ornamental purposes. Dry creek beds made from river stone are often installed for drainage reasons while adding a pleasing aesthetic to a landscape. One of our own, Jimmy, is pictured here installing river rocks atop landscape fabric. The fabric provides a permanent weed barrier. River stone can be installed throughout the year, during any season.
