Rivers Council Chairman Kidnapped The Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Council of Rivers State, Mr. Awori Miller, was kidnapped along Rufus Ada-George Road in Port Harcourt, the state capital on Saturday. Miller’s whereabouts remained unknown while no demand for ransom had been made by the kidnappers. Family members in the local government chairman’s Port Harcourt residence on Sunday morning confirmed the kidnap by gunmen, but declined to give further details. Rivers Police Spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, ASP, while also confirming the kidnap at 12:13 pm on Sunday, said: “Yes sir, I am aware. The police are making serious efforts for his release.”
