Rivers PDP Chairman, Obuah Hosts Over 10,000 Rivers Daughters …Harps On Support For President Jonathan, PDP The Rivers State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bro Felix Obuah has urged Rivers women under the aegis of Rivers Daughters (RD) not to relent in mobilizing support for President Goodluck Jonathan, and the party for next years general elections. The Chairman stated this Tuesday, November 25, 2014 as he played host to over 10, 000 members of the group who paid him an advocacy visit at the State Party Secretariat in Port Harcourt. He made it clear that whoever works must surely benefit from the system. “It is no longer monkey de work, barboon de chop,” Obuah noted. He reiterated that female member aspirants of the party will be considered in line with the 35% affirmative action of the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan. Prince Obuah equally promised to include the group in his protocol list for all PDP programmes and activities. He used the opportunity to urge them to ensure that they actively participate in the forthcoming Permanent Voters Cards exercise to be able to vote in all PDP candidates to victory, adding that henceforth it is no longer going to be “carry go” election but that every vote must count. Prince Obuah said PDP is working and that no matter the amount of distractions by the opposition, the party will emerge victorious at the polls going by the commitment of its members. He used the opportunity to advise the women group to be coordinated and focused as they go about their duties. Bro. Obuah reassured all aspirants of a level playing ground in the forth-coming election, and advised the electorate to conduct themselves peacefully. While congratulating President Jonathan for heeding the calls of the people to declare for his second term re-election, the Chairman also hailed Chief Wike for his clearance by the Screening Committee. Earlier, the National Coordinator of the group and Ada Rivers State (Rivers daughter) Chief (Mrs.) Eunice Igweh had thanked the PDP Chairman for making out time to host them. She used the opportunity to list out the aims and objectives of the organization to include intercession to God for their leaders and mobilizing support for PDP candidates for the polls. Dignitaries that graced the event include, the Party Vice Chairman, Dr. Barivule Kpakol and State Secretary, Hon. Ibibia Walter. The Executives of the Rivers Daughters present include: Chief (Mrs.) Eunice Igwe, Grand Matron, Dr. Patrician Ogbonnaya, President, Dr. (Mrs.) Juliet Berewari, V/President, Mrs. Helen Nkechi Otis, Secretary, Chief (Mrs) Emily Ede, Coordinator-General, Barr. Rosemary Nwugo – Legal Adviser and Evg. Ima Egbuluka- Prayer team leader. Highlight of the occasion was a prayer session for the party chairman, Bro. Felix Obuah as well as the appreciation of a grandmother, Madam Helen Nsiegbe from Port Harcourt Constituency 2 by the Chairman with the sum of N20, 000.
