Road Closure Update for Nov 7-9, 2014 Caltrans and SEMA Construction are constructing the new Pachappa Railroad Overcrossing and pile driving is necessary to erect the support beams in the median of SR 91. Caltrans has worked closely with City of Riverside officials to expedite the work. A 56-hour weekend lane and ramp closure period will begin on Friday, November 7 at 9:00 p.m. to Monday, November 10, at 5:00 a.m. The details are as follows: SR 91 will be reduced to two lanes in each direction between Central Avenue and 14th Street in downtown Riverside throughout the weekend. Westbound SR 91 will experience traffic breaks approximately every sixty(60) minutes to allow for the piles to be safely reloaded. North bound on I - 215 connector to west bound SR 91 will be closed all weekend. East bound on the SR 60 connector to west bound SR 91 will be closed all weekend, however, the connector will be open on Sunday, November 10th between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. to accommodate the Mission Inn Run missioninnrun/. The 10th Street on ramp to west bound SR 91 will be closed all weekend14th Street/Kane St. on ramp to west bound 91 will remain open, but will close intermittently every 60 minutes to reload the piles. Detours are available on SR 60, I-215,and I-15 to avoid SR 91 - plan ahead and use alternate routes to avoid the downtown Riverside area if possible. Motorists are advised that city streets will also have closures for the Mission Inn Run on Sunday, November 10th from 7:00 a.m. to noon.missioninnrun/street-closures.html MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED THAT UP TO TWO (2) HOUR DELAYS ARE EXPECTED IF TRAFFIC DIVERSION DOES NOT OCCUR Caltrans and the CHP remind the motoring public that the speed limit is 55 miles per hour inthe construction zone and fines are doubled. BELOW ARE SUGGESTED ALTERNATIVE ROUTES TO HELP YOU AVOID THE CONGESTION IN ORDER TO ACCESS THE MISSION INN RUN: Eastbound SR-60 (from Ontario, Chino, Pomona, Los Angeles). Exit Main Street, turn right and proceed to 3rd Street. Left on 3rd Street to Orange, and right on Orange to Mission Inn Ave. Westbound SR-60/Northbound I-215 (from Moreno Valley/Temecula). Exit Blaine St (3rd Street), turn left onto 3rd and proceed to Lime Street, turn left and go to Mission Inn Ave turn right. Eastbound SR-91 (from Corona, Norco, Orange County). Exit Central Ave, turn left and proceed to Magnolia. Right turn on Magnolia to Mission Inn Ave. Southbound I-215/Westbound SR-91 (from Colton, San Bernardino, Redlands). Exit Mission Inn Ave, turn right.
