Roaring! One cant hear it from anywhere in Marloth Park, but - TopicsExpress

Roaring! One cant hear it from anywhere in Marloth Park, but especially down here by us where the river swerves away, the water hits the huge boulders just before and on the corner, hence the thunderous sound. Like standing next to the ocean at high tide when the great waves crush against the rocks. We saw warnings from Field Security at the shops that it is expected, with more rain on the way, that the flood will be worse than that of the year 2000. We were here after the floods that time and took pictures, the damage to houses was severe. One house had a whole tree pushed through it, way, way high above normal flood levels. Another crazy thing this time, is that not only our roof leaked, but a lot of others too. The strength of the pouring rain was that intense. Yoricka sent us a number of pictures from the sightings sites to which she belongs. Oish, scary stuff. Water is so powerful. BTW, Cliff couldnt do trips today, roads closed, and so he took over the shop again (phew! Rest!), with the result I could go to Bible Study this morning. We drove along the riverfront. Yes, it does look more like a lake than a river, with angry waves rolling and dashing al over the surface. One of our neighbours pulled up next to us, said he walked to the fence early morning and saw 2 hippos being tossed around in the water. No sooner would they get foothold and try to get out of it, than the water swept them away again, rolled them upside down and hither and thither. At last, as they neared the bend, their feet found hold on some boulders or something and they managed to pull themselves to the bank. Okay, so I ate too much cheesecake yesterday and am sitting with the runs. If the weather allows it, we will try walking to the fence to snap away with the camera and I will post some here.
