Rob Keller 3 mins · Champions end 2014 with wins Path Valley Speedway crowned six champions on Saturday night. Four of those drivers found their way to victory lane and the other two finished second. Charlie Stallman added one last feature win to his championship season in the 4-Cylinder Strictly Stocks. Stallman won the heat race and led all twenty laps of the feature. Tony Hampton made it close at the end, getting to Stallmans back bumper with two laps to go, but could get no closer. Third, fourth, and fifth went to Aaron Updegraff, Todd Mathna, and Austin Gelwick. Kurt Knepper won the Mini Stock heat race and he also led all twenty laps to win the feature. Dillon Wilson finished second and won the point championship. Third went to Tom White and Justin Bucher was fourth. The closest race of the evening was the Legend feature. Chad Earnst started second and beat pole-sitter Bill Diehl out of turn two and into the lead on lap one. Lucas Montgomery took the second spot on lap five and began to pressure Earnst for the lead. Earnst made one mistake in turn four and Montgomery got inside him, leading lap twelve by inches. Earnst fought back using the high line and regained the lead the next lap. Several cautions kept the field bunched together and setup an exciting finish. Diehl worked back around Montgomery for second, but then Bob Stough made a late charge, moving from fourth to second in the closing laps. When the checkered flag waved it was Earnst in front, followed by Stough, Diehl, Montgomery, and Travis McClelland. The heat races were won by Earnst and Diehl. In the PASS 305 Sprint feature Tyler Reeser led from start to finish to score his first victory in the series. Eric Parker finished second, which also earned him the series point championship for 2014. Russell Hammaker was third, followed by Nathan Gramley and Scott Ellerman. Heat race wins went to Reeser and Hammaker. Josh Stoyer was the dominant driver in the 270cc Micro Sprint division at Path Valley in 2014. Saturday night he completed that season by winning the heat race and then leading all twenty laps for the feature win. Stoyer also was crowned the point champion. Colby Dice finished second, followed by Cory Myers, Jason Houtz, and Levi Peck. Jim Young topped off his championship season with another feature win in the 600cc Micro Sprints. Arron Spahr led the first seven laps, but dropped out of the event shortly after losing the lead to Young on lap eight. Young cruised to victory, leading the final thirteen laps. Second place went to Dexter Strawser, followed by Mike Rynard and Hannah Riser. Spahr was scored in fifth. Anthony Macri won the heat race. The night finished with the Street Stock feature. Ken Singer claimed his third point championship in a row as he led all twenty laps to win the feature. Boyd Brode recovered from a slow roll over in the heat race to post a second place finish in the feature. Cris Edwards was third, Ronnie Garlock fourth, and Chad Parks fifth. Cousin Johnny of Lizard Lick Towing fame was on hand and drove the Street Stock owned by Phil Boden. Path Valley results 9/27 4-Cyl.
