Robert Long Collins Posted: Thursday, August 15, 2013 11:23 am Robert Long Collins, 65, passed away on August 13, 2013. He was born on June 2, 1948 in Avalon, Mississippi to Burtis Collins and Ercile Long Collins. Robert was a longtime resident of Aransas Pass, he was an active member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, a member and head of security of the San Antonio de Pauda Cemetery Association. He was a hard working, dedicated family man. He had many jobs during his life. He was a commercial shrimper for many years, he worked at the ferry landings, he was a pile driver and a bridge builder. His last job was as a machine operator at Tianjan Pipe Company in Gregory. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James and John Collins; grandson, Rodolfo Collins. Robert is survived by his wife, Maria “Mary” Garcia Collins; sons, Robert Lee Collins (Angela) of Deer Park, Texas, Freddy Garza (Emilia) and Michael Edwards of Aransas Pass, Texas, Rudy Edwards of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughters, Patricia Clericuzio (Stephen) of Cape Neddick, Maine, Micaela Edwards of Aransas Pass, Texas, Joyce Ann Hurley (Derek) of Milton Mills, New Hampsire, Britina Collins of Ingleside, Texas; brother, Roy Collins (Trina) of Rockport, Texas; sister, Kathy Wells (Frank) of Aransas Pass, Texas; many grand babies and many great grand babies. Visitation will begin at 8a.m.-9p.m. with Rosary recited at 7p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 2p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2013 at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Antonio de Pauda Cemetery.
