Robert Richards, Marine Guilty in Taliban Desecration, Dies at 28 AUG. 15, 2014 Robert W. Richards, a former sergeant who provoked international outrage when he and three other Marines were seen on videotape urinating on the corpses of Muslims in Afghanistan in 2011, died on Wednesday at his home in Jacksonville, N.C. The medications that Richards had been taking for post-traumatic stress disorder contributed to his death. Richards pleaded guilty at a court-martial in August 2013 and was demoted to corporal. He was granted an honorable discharge. Now he has gone to the real court of Devine Justice.
