Robin Hood was history’s first real action hero crime fighter. - TopicsExpress

Robin Hood was history’s first real action hero crime fighter. This was years before Spartacus, who was rather scrappy by comparison and I’ll outline a couple of points on that under here. 1. Spartacus – Silly little leather skirt and sandals. Had a pointed stick or ‘jabbing-pole,’ as they fancifully called the things. Robin Hood – Smart matching outfit, green hat tunic and shoes, and everyone one had a bow and arrow. 2. Spartacus – Atrocious, grating Italian accent. Robin Hood – Spoke proper English. 3. Spartacus - Once seen in a stolen chariot but generally just running around poking people with his jabbing pole, muttering uncouth things about the Romans. Robin Hood - Swinging through the trees with the modern bow and arrow, and his call of, ‘One for all and all for one.’ In summary: Robin Hood, hero for all the ages. Spartacus, just a little donk with a pointed stick.
