Robin Williams was one of San Franciscos long-time residents( he has several houses scattered around Bay Area though). So when i first came to San Francisco, he was the one of the two people I fantasized bumping into (the other one was Wynona Rider when she was still young and famous..but for my intellectual and artistic interest, I would choose to meet Robin over any pretty face). I heard several stories from colleagues who have bumped into him at local small bakeries and small cafes(he was a morning person) and when they would stare at him, he would say Yeah, yeah, its me. No doubt. with a wave and a smile..he even shared tables with strangers...and dropped a joke or two. I never met the guy though. I wish I did and I would tell him how only few might have understood Fisher King and What Dreams May Come but they were his most philosophical and poetic movies.
