Robin had a spinal tap this morning to drain fluid that was pooling on the brain. They also did a procedure that will allow the fluid to drain as needed and hopefully not pool. (Things make sense when they explain them to me, but then when I try to repeat it... I hope Im relaying things correctly.) Please remember her daughter AnnaPaige in your prayers as well. She turned one last Thursday. Weve known for a while that shes not using her legs very well (not pulling up past a kneeling position, not crawling, etc.) but shes been happy as a lark and getting around by scooting. She had an appointment at Le Bonheur this morning (weve been waiting over two months). They said she has the strength she needs, but lacks the tone to contract her muscles to make her stand. Shell have an MRI to make sure theres no brain-to-muscles disconnect, and will begin physical therapy to work on gaining muscle tone. The kicker is that all this will happen in Colorado. Her Aunt Valerie and Uncle Justin will bear the responsibility for her care during this time. They are ready and very willing, but you can probably imagine how much I (and Jim... and Abby... ) want to be there to help. Please pray as you are led. Val & Justin have an almost-3-year-old of their own, so you can imagine suddenly adding a one-year-old to the mix, and all that the physical therapy will entail. Thanks for praying. God is able.
