Rockaway Walk - AJ Tagnani I walk and I walk. I stroll with my vans guiding me through the ocean soaked cement of Rockaway Alley. I walk and I walk and now this hunger I cannot hold. A Greek chicken stand guards a viewed out home veering to the right of my vision. I walk and I walk. Laces loosened. A sign ahead reads WE PROUDLY SERVE! I walk and I walk, over the mold that folds over the curb. I walk and I walk. Waiters begin to strap their waste lines along the sandy walkways of Pacific Beach Ale. I walk and I walk wishing for a better tale to tell. I see the riches of others with my own stale life. I walk and walk then I fell. By hiding from this accident I could not prevail. My vans sustain my weight as I glide upward to stand. I walk and I walk. I walk and I walk. I walk with several steps included. I walk for hours and four more hours. I come across and man with a sign reading MY HEART HAS NO LOVE LEFT TO SELL ALONG WITH AN EMPTY HAND. This man’s feeling I sure understand. I walk and I walk. Then I stand still. Pounds of fresh wind pass through my nostrils and fill my lungs with air that only passes by the shore. So I start to walk and walk again. At last I reach a bay corner to rest and see what rocks had in store. I walk and walk and now I sit. This is the life that serves so much more.
