Rockland Non Profit Matter! Come out and support Rally at County Legislature on Monday, 12/15 @ 7:00 With a vote of 15-2, the Rockland County Legislature passed an amended 2015 budget that includes fully funding the not-for-profit contracted agencies at 100% of what was received in 2014. Non-profits provide critical services that would be far more costly to taxpayers when handled by the public or private for-profit sector. Supported, in part, with a small fraction of the county budget, non-profits support local businesses and bring in over half a billion dollars from sources outside of Rockland. They employ over 9,000 Rockland residents, contribute over $60 million worth of free volunteer hours. Keep Rockland Beautiful alone contributes more than $300k of volunteer hours toward improving the health of our environment and communities. We educate and inspire our youth to be active stewards of our precious natural resources.
