Rocknroll is not a suit or a haircut. Its not a plug-in or a guitar pedal. Its the bratty younger sister who grew up into a loudmouth lesbian feminist. Its political, apolitical, revolutionary, reactionary, self-righteous, self-deluded, nihilist, hedonist, perfect, tasteless. It wants to do too much, it wants to do nothing. It gets it wrong and shouts about it for days before changing its mind. It goes off in all directions, down the wrong road, up the garden path. It occasionally needs a kick in the ass. It occasionally needs to be reminded where it came from. It occasionally needs to forget and just go steaming ahead. It needs to tell me to shut the hell up.
