Performs a variety of office, clerical, and routine housekeeping functions associated with dispatch and data collection operations; issues, tracks, recovers and accounts for sensitive items of equipment and vehicles; frequently transmits, receives, and logs information received from telephone, cellular, and portable radio system communications; routinely performs basic computing, filing, copying, alphabetizing and telephone answering duties; routinely uses military forms; routinely uses military maps; rotates shift work between both day or night shifts as required; other duties as required consistent with this occupational specialty. .:: Mental/Physical Requirements: Must be in good physical condition capable of prolonged sitting, standing and walking; must be able to work all shifts; must be able to travel unaccompanied throughout the continental US and foreign countries; individual will be subject to random drug screening; must possess a valid Louisiana State Driver’s License (or equivalent). .:: Education/Experience Requirements: Required Experience: High School Diploma, excellent written and oral communications skills; must be able to speak clearly and calmly while using radio communication systems; functional abilities with basic mathematics; functional abilities with computers including use of Word and Excel; functional abilities with facsimile and copy machines; must be able to multi-task and work independently when needed. Must train and become proficient in military map reading including deciphering and encoding locations using the Military Grid Reference System; must become proficient in military communications procedures including using the phonetic alphabet and understanding call signs, pro-words, and acronyms.
