Rollerskiing, the Nordic skier’s key dryland training tool. For Daniel and Rickard Tynell of Team Tynell, rollerskiing comprises 70-80% of their summer dryland training. These brothers are distance racing specialists with Daniel having won the 90km Vasaloppet (the world’s biggest race) three times and Rikard breaking into the top ranks with a victory at last year’s 65km La Diagonela. For these two racers, who focus on the classic technique events, 90% of their training time is dedicated to classic and double poling and 10% to skating. A normal training day would dictate 3 to 4 hours of rollerskiing but on occasion they do ski as long as 7 hours. They enjoy Salomon Exofit apparel to help reduce the road vibration and fatigue that rollerskiing brings. They use the identical length Salomon S-Lab poles and identical S-Lab boots as they do on snow. The extra weight, wheel height and solid pavement of rollerskiing creates much greater stresses to the boot/binding/ski interface than snow skiing does. The Tynell brothers favor the SNS system because it allows them to securely mount their Salomon Propulse and Pilot bindings to their rollerskis. This direct interface provides the maximum control and durability that is needed each day on snow or on pavement. https://facebook/TeamTynell?fref=photo
