Romanian language lesson: la Pastele cailor - at the Horses Easter = Never! om cu scaun la cap - a man with a chair at his head (a mind well seated) = someone wise; a umbla cu nasul pe sus - to walk nose-up = being arrogant; a fi din topor - to be from the axe = to be direct a fi toba de carte - to be drum of book = to be educated, to have extensive knowledge. a fi cu capul pe umeri - to be with head on your shoulders = to be realist a se uita ca vitelul la poarta noua - to look as a veal at the new gate - to be amazed/ shocked by something unexpected/ unknown; a umbla dupa cai verzi pe pereti - to walk after green horses on the walls = to try to find something that it doesnt really exist, to lose time... a face haz de necaz - to make fun of sorrow = this is something Romanian, indeed (when you have problems, you try to make fun of what happened, to ease the pressure...) ... and this is only the beginning, we have so many is really hard to choose the best!
