Romans 8.22-23 For we know that the whole creation has been - TopicsExpress

Romans 8.22-23 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. While I accept that the paleo movement has found a much better way to eat than the standard Western diet, most paleo advocates embrace the theory of evolution, claiming that for 2 million years of evolutionary development humans ate only animals that they could hunt and plants that they could gather, and they consumed few grains. While I am not opposed to theistic evolution as incompatible with Christian theology, I am however less convinced by the theory of evolution per se. On the other hand, one does not have to accept millions of years of evolution in order to argue for paleo eating. Even the hunter gatherers of our epoch lived much better on their traditional paleo diet than since they added wheat and sugar to their daily fare. Christians today believe that the creation doesnt function as intended because of humanitys sin. This is the doctrine of original sin or total depravity. Diabetes haunts my family, and I am essentially diabetic, only warding off the worst symptoms through a strict low-carb paleo diet. But I believe that God created the original humans with an intact and perfectly functioning glucose metabolism, and that diabetes, and all other degenerative diseases, are the result of the Fall. The body no longer functions as created because of the Curse (Gen 3.14-19). Likewise, God created all plants edible and humans and the animals as vegans (cf. Gen. 3.16; 1.29-30). However, since the Fall, it is not possible to thrive as a vegan.
