Romantic Attraction and the Divine Feminine. “No” Is the Answer to “A Question of Balance.” We Have Babies Rather Than Be Reborn “We act out our desire to re-unite with our repressed Divinity in our romantic endeavors.” “…on the Ego level, men and women look for partners to complete or balance them, whereas at the more advanced perinatal and transpersonal levels, humans look for partners to share with them. One relationship emanates from need; the other from the joy of beingness. A friend of mine used a geometric analogy, at one time, to explain this: It is the difference between two semicircles coming together to create a circle, versus two circles coming together to create a sphere.” “I do not believe there are many spiritual people — women or men — who would not agree that the feminine qualities of humans — peace not war, compassion not punishment, yielding not aggression, and so on — are more aligned with our higher selves. So it should not be too much to expect that women, as well as men, will be unusually attracted to the feminine in both their male and female friends and lovers.” The distorted metaphysical understandings that result [from weighing the feminine and masculine in us equally] show up in the common spiritual admonishments to seek “balance” between the feminine and the masculine in life. This thinking would have it that the more ideal state of humans would include some masculine war to counter all that damn “feminine” peace, that compassion needs to be offset with punishment, that loving is better when it is conditional as well as unconditional. Since Jesus espoused a softer, more “feminine” spirituality to counter the patriarchal attitudes of his time, this value of “balance” would have us thinking we should turn the other cheek half the time, punch ‘im in the face the other half. This wrong thinking is highly reminiscent of the rationalizations people use to explain their greedy and acquisitive qualities by claiming that it is rooted in a “Darwinian reality” of “kill or be killed,” or in a completely intractable “human nature” characterized by savagery, or in the Divine insertion into Reality of a demon or Satan, who … ahem, ahem … “made me do it.” “…rather than experience the necessary rebirth, in order to reclaim the connection with Divinity, we give birth to another.” https://facebook/notes/michael-adzema/romantic-attraction-and-the-divine-feminine-no-is-the-answer-to-a-question-of-ba/10152521565478138
