Rome was not built in a day, true. But Rome was not built on - TopicsExpress

Rome was not built in a day, true. But Rome was not built on excuses either. When you run around campaigning for elections or lobbying for political appointments, your chief concern is to convince all those who make the hiring decisions that you indeed have what it takes to do the job properly, in spite of all the anticipated difficulties. To my way of thinking, if you serve four or eight years as president, governor or minister, collecting government salaries and allowances, and all you can point to at the end are the very good reasons why all the promises you made could not come to fruition, you ought to be publicly disgraced and jailed for fraudulent misrepresentation. What you have done is effectively deny the nation four irreplaceable years in which if it had engaged the services of a better qualified person than you, it could have better deployed its resources for the common good. And you, the one making all manner of excuses for the indefensible incompetence of the people you carelessly voted into office: stop laughing at all the mugus in the 419 stories youve been hearing. None of those mugus fall mugu pass you. And your own mumurity is still ongoing as we speak.
