Ronald Wells Sr. (1946 - 2014) Yazoo City Ronald (Ronnie) Hugh Wells, Sr., aged 67, was called home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at his home in Yazoo City, MS. He was born November 22, 1946 in McComb, MS to Thelma May Wells and James Hugh Wells, Sr. He graduated from McComb High School and attended the University of Southern Mississippi majoring in graphic arts. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War as a dust-off (Medivac) pilot. After the war, he served 34 years with the Mississippi Army National Guard 185th Aviation Battalion, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. He then worked for Dyncorp International in Columbia, South America until he retired in November, 2013. Mr. Wells was a long time member of Midway Missionary Baptist Church in Benton, MS. He was preceded in death by a son, Gabriel Lee Wells and a brother, James Daniel Wells. He is survived by his wife, Lindy Marshall Wells, two sons: Ronald Hugh Wells, Jr. and wife, Deidra of Toomsuba, MS; Shane Hathcock and wife, Rhonda of Brandon, MS, and a daughter, Rebecca Emory and husband, Luke of Brandon, Ms; two brothers, Tommy Wells and wife, Phyllis of McComb, MS and James Hugh Wells, Jr. and wife, Cyndi, of Long Beach, MS. He is also survived by grandchildren, Josh and Cohlby Wells, Lilly Fortson, Anna and Adah Hathcock, Maddox Emory, and great-grandchildren, Keaton and Caroline Wells, along with numberous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will be at Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City, MS on Wednesday, September 17 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday, September 18 at 1:00 with funeral servives at 2:00 p.m at Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at the Midway Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Benton, MS.
