Well where to begin, I think i`ll treat myself to an early new years resolution, Every single week of the season I hope and prey for a decent fair just referee, well thats out of the window now. Its not as if Phil Dowd had a particularly hard job to do today. He jumped on Barclays dive early on and the yellow card put an end to it, But where Mr Dowd really lost the game was failing to send off Kevin Mirallas following his assault on Luis Suarez, a word of advice Mr Dowd, when a player is left on the floor with stud holes in his knee its not playacting, its a knee high tackle with studs leading and on no planet is it anything other than a straight red, unless your name is Phil Dowd. It turned what had been a typical derby into a bitter and nasty sideshow, So determined was he that he was going to keep the red cards in his pocket that he allowed Miralles to do what he wanted for the rest of the game, (there were at least another 2 yellow card offences he escaped punishment for) Glad to hear that Dougal has criticised him but I would have expected our capitan to have explained to Mr Dowd, that if he wasnt going to red card him Miralles would be going home in an ambulance, If only we had a Graeme Souness or a Jimmy Case we wouldnt have to rely on these overpaid prima donas. It was the worst display of refereeing I have seen since Peter Willis ruined the league game with Ipswich in 1977, yet Phil Dowd will have another game next week maybe Miralles will be punished but I wont be holding my breath. FOR the record Liverpool snatched a draw from the jaws of defeat with Sturridges last minute equaliser and may have had all three points but for Howards heroics, if only Rodgers had replaced Allan with the striker rather than waste a substitution on Moses, I mean wtf MOSES what did he offer us? That said they certainly owed a debt to Mignolet. for gods sake though SORT THESE REFEREES OUT NOW!
